How to run an AKT tutorial? (GP Only), 16th January 2025 (To Be Rescheduled)

Title: How to Run an AKT Tutorial ( GP Only)

Facilitator: Pieter MacKeith

Date: Thursday 16th January

Time:  13:30 - 14:30

Delivery: Virtual via MS Teams

Audience: East of England GP Educators

Overview:

This workshop will focus on how to best prepare our GP residents for the AKT and more specifically on 'How to Run an AKT Tutorial'. It will be a mixture of information giving about resources and brainstorming about how we can improve this aspect of our teaching for AKT that sometimes we can struggle with as educators.

It is aimed at new trainers and existing SOX educators alike.  We will cover how to help your trainee 'find their frog' and more specifically highlight some of the content from the recent annual AKT feedback reports as well as the five-year summary report in greater detail to optimise their preparation in demonstrating areas where trainees perform less well and thus are likely to be retested in future sittings.  By the end of the session, you should leave with a better understanding of how to identify the learning needs and individualise the tutorials for your own registrars, while being reassured that you have convincingly helped them in their exam prep.
