Why Basildon?

Formed in 1948 after World War II as a 'new town', Basildon now has a population of nearly 170,000. Local amenities include the Towngate Theatre and the Festival Leisure Park with cinemas, clubs, restaurants and bowling (the third largest nightclub complex in the UK!). There are plenty of green spaces within and around the town and transport links to Central London are excellent (only 25 miles away).

Famous locals have included Depeche Mode, Alison Moyet and members of Five, The Cure and McFly.
