Lister House Dental Centre I qualified in Dentistry from Athens, Greece in 1999. Following graduation, I completed two years of service in the army as a dentist. Since 2001, I have worked as a full-time associate in the same dental practice, where I have built strong relationships with patients and colleagues over the years. Ji Ye Lee BDS(KCL), MJDF RCS(Eng), PG cert (Clinical education) After graduating from dental school in 2013, I did my foundation training in Doncaster. I then progressed into dental core training in OMFS at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, assisting consultants in major head and neck cancer surgeries and provided its post-operative care as well as emergency treatments for facial/dental trauma. This has disciplined me with an aptitude to stay calm in urgent situations and I learnt how to prioritise. Practice Address: Lister House Dental Centre,

Lister House Dental Centre is a modern, family-run practice with 8 spacious and fully equipped surgeries (with plenty of free parking). Each surgery is designed to accommodate both left- and right-handed clinicians.
We are a mixed NHS and private practice, with a well-established and diverse patient base that provides a broad clinical experience for Foundation Dentists. The surgeries are fitted with high-quality, up-to-date equipment that is regularly maintained to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Our facilities include:
- Three digital intraoral scanners
- Microscope
- CBCT/OPG
- Digital radiography
- Rotary endodontic systems
In addition to general dental services, we have a visiting Restorative Specialist and a Special Interest Endodontist, providing additional learning opportunities and support for more complex cases.
Our team is experienced, supportive, and committed to providing an excellent learning environment for trainees, with a strong focus on clinical development and patient care.
Our practice is based in Harlow, a well-connected town in Essex with excellent transport links to London, Cambridge, and surrounding areas via road and rail. Harlow offers a mix of urban and green spaces, with a range of amenities including shopping centres, gyms, restaurants, and leisure facilities.
The town has a diverse population, providing a varied and well-rounded patient base that ensures exposure to a wide spectrum of dental needs. Good local schools, and easy access to countryside and city life make Harlow an attractive place to live and work, particularly for young professionals and families.
At Lister House Dental Centre, we’re proud to offer something a bit different from most practices in the area. We’re one of the only practices locally to have an in-house Restorative Specialist, with expertise in areas like periodontics and endodontics. This means our Foundation Dentist has the rare chance to observe and learn from advanced treatments - everything from periodontal therapy and complex re-root canal treatments to fractured file removal, implant placements, and oral surgery.
One of the things we value most here is collaboration. All our clinicians work closely together, regularly discussing cases and supporting each other. We hold regular clinician meetings and encourage open conversation across the team, including with our specialists, so there’s always someone to ask for help or advice.
Being a large, 8-surgery practice means there’s always someone around. We know dentistry can sometimes feel a bit isolating, especially in the early years, so we make sure there’s a strong support system in place. We’re also a family-run practice, and that really shapes the atmosphere here. We’re approachable, hands-on, and always around when you need us.
Living in Harlow is straightforward too. There’s a good mix of affordable accommodation nearby, and getting to and from London or Cambridge is easy, whether you drive or take the train.
Overall, we’ve created an environment that’s friendly, supportive, and full of opportunities to learn. If you’re looking for a practice where you’ll be well-supported, challenged, and made to feel part of the team from day one, we think you’ll feel right at home here.

Shephall Dental Surgery has been a FD training Practice since 2006. The Practice has recently been refurbished for a more modern outlook and has six spacious treatment rooms all of which are fully equipped with modern equipment. The Practice has digital radiographs, rotary endodontic equipment and a scanner. We will be getting intra-oral cameras in all treatment rooms soon as we find this to be exceptionally useful in patient education and consent.
The FDs surgery can be adapted for a left handed team member if needed. A broad range of treatment in the field of general restorative and implant dentistry is carried out. We see a diverse range of patients with varying treatment needs; some needing simple restorative dentistry and others with more complex treatment needs. Our Practice boasts a loyal and long-standing patient base. The patients are used to the educational ethos all our team members share and are happy for us to help the FD and get involved with treatment as needed.
Our entire team of over 20 including Practice Managers, Receptionists, Nurses and Hygienists are warm and welcoming and enjoy having a FD in the Practice. We have a very approachable team of five dentists (including the two ESs) who enjoy teaching and love the enthusiasm that a FD brings to the Practice. The FD will be well supported by the entire team.
During the DFT year at Shephall the FD will work Monday to Thursday with study days on Fridays. On Fridays where the FD does not have a study day, the FD will not be expected to come into the Practice.
The Practice is situated in a residential town in Stevenage, 30 minutes drive from North London. The Practice is located in a converted detached house. There is ample free parking outside the Practice.
Shephall Dental Surgery has been a well established family oriented Practice since the 1950's. We see patients of all backgrounds and ages with varying treatment needs. Many of our patients that have moved to other towns still return for dental care. The patients are generally very friendly and relaxed in nature.
Stevenage has an excellent train link into Kings Cross St Pancras and is situated on the A1. We are a 5 minute drive from Stevenage train station. Stevenage is a fairly young and vibrant down located close to London without having London prices which is a real advantage. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, a cinema, and a leisure centre.
Our focus is on the prevention of disease and the Dentist's are supported in this respect by a team of Hygienists working at the Practice. Most team members; Associates, Receptionists, Practice Managers and Nurses; have been with us for several years and are very keen to involve themselves in FD training.
We are a team who look forward to mentoring, coaching and supporting our new FD starting in September. Please note our new website is currently under construction but should be available to be viewed. Together with our team of enthusiastic associates who all love and participate in the Foundation Dentistry year; I believe our Practice provides you with all the necessary equipment, materials and support to flourish and grow proficiently with regards to confidence and skills in all aspect of general and restorative dentistry.
We like to keep in touch with our FD's throughout their dental journey and have scope to keep the FD on as an Associate after the Foundation year.
